Areet like hinny, what fettle? (Hello there Sir/Madam, how are you?).
I’m Marcus Gibb and I’m a Geordie. I love Newcastle. The city, the culture, the people, and the football team. The nation that is constantly topping polls about the friendliest people and the most lovable accent. It has been said that “if patter (talk) was watter (water) we’d droon (drown).” Well this patter, ability to talk, or ‘spin a yarn’, is a blessing, as it allows me as a Geordie to use these words creatively.
Anyway, “quit the patter bonny lad”. I also love other cities. Ones I’ve experienced – London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York, the list goes on. I’m a massive fan of art, culture, music and fashion and take influence from my experiences travelling, reading, listening, learning and studying. First; Environmental Management (BSc Hons Degree), then music (record deal, single and album release with Kitchenware Records, home to Prefab Sprout, Editors, Lighthouse Family and Jake Bugg) and not forgetting my other passion, love, and obsession; Advertising.
All of these experiences gathered along the way; the geographical cultural influences, the writing of poetry, the crafting of songwriting and music production, have led me to the wondrous world of advertising, and I would now like to unleash them on our beautiful country’s capital.
My good points
Me ma always telt us “shy bairns get nowt” and I’m “geet canny as owt” (My Mother always told me to be forthcoming and I’m an extremely pleasant chap).
So, I’ll list a few of my good points. I consider myself to be a reliable, self-motivated and intelligent lad, who loves nothing better than bouncing ideas back and forth until a good one mysteriously appears. I’m confident and independent and enjoy listening and learning as well as getting my point across. I’m what my late granddad would call a “grafter”, and my current creative director quotes as having “a real Geordie work ethic”, working hard at what I do because I enjoy it, and well that���s the way I was brought up. I’m a very positive person with a strong commitment to develop, learn new skills, solve problems and motivate myself as well as others around me.

Here I have helped raise online awareness for the sports and fashion brand through online advertising and social media. In the 9 months I worked there Facebook ‘likes’ increased from 2000 to 44,500.
